Your first run

Start with a harmless command to verify the observation workflow.

Open Add base → Download base…. Refresh the catalog if it has not loaded, then choose the BusyBox base for Antinomie 0.3.0.

The app downloads and verifies the bundle before installing it. BusyBox is a small environment suited to this first test. Desktop workloads can use Debian 13 with GNOME.

Choose New VM, select the installed base, and give the VM a name. Keep networking disconnected for this test. Set CPU, RAM and disk capacity to fit the base recommendations and your host.

Each VM gets its own writable disk overlay. The installed base stays unchanged. See VM settings for resource and display choices.

Select the VM and press Start VM. Wait for startup to complete, then open Launch program and set:

Field Value
Executable /bin/echo
Arguments hello from Antinomie
Working directory /
Run in App terminal

Leave static-analysis categories unselected for this first dynamic run. Confirm Run. The process terminal should print hello from Antinomie and the run should finish.

The exact number and order of calls depend on the executable and guest. The expected outcome is terminal output, a completed run and recorded calls.

Select the run in Run History. In Syscall Trace, select a call to inspect its arguments, result and captured data. A write call can show the bytes printed to the terminal.

Open captured data in its own window to switch between text and byte formats. Use the captured-data guide when a value is partial or unavailable.

Stop the VM and reopen the run from Run History. Saved traces and terminal output let you inspect the observation without running the command again.

For a program on the host, use Upload file to copy it to a guest path, then launch that guest path. The executable must match the guest’s architecture and have any required interpreter or libraries.
