fsconfig
Partial in Antinomie 0.7.0 · Syscall list
Synopsis
Section titled “Synopsis”long fsconfig(int fs_fd, unsigned int cmd, const char *key, const void *value, int aux);| Number (x86-64) | 431 |
| ABI | common |
| Kernel entry point | sys_fsconfig |
This is the raw kernel prototype from the pinned Linux 6.12.94 schema, not the libc wrapper.
Description
Section titled “Description”Sets parameters or runs commands on a filesystem context made by fsopen or fspick.
Arguments
Section titled “Arguments”| Name | Type | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
fs_fd (arg0) |
int |
File descriptor of a filesystem context. |
cmd (arg1) |
unsigned int |
Command or operation selector. |
key (arg2) |
const char * |
Key, either a numeric key or a pointer to a key description. |
value (arg3) |
const void * |
Value to set or compare. |
aux (arg4) |
int |
Auxiliary value. |
Return value
Section titled “Return value”On success: 0.
In an Antinomie trace the Return column and the ret filter field show the raw kernel return value. On failure that is the negative errno, for example -2 for ENOENT, not the -1 plus errno that the libc wrapper gives. syscall.errno holds the positive errno and syscall.success is false.
Common errors
Section titled “Common errors”| Raw return | Name | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
-22 |
EINVAL |
An argument is invalid. |
-1 |
EPERM |
The operation is not permitted for this process. |
Man page
Section titled “Man page”Captured by Antinomie
Section titled “Captured by Antinomie”Coverage mark: Partial. Known commands decode their key and value. An unknown command records an fsconfig.unknown_selector “no decoder” gap.
Every call is recorded as an Entry record (the six argument words and the pointees copied at entry) and an Exit record (the return value and the pointees copied at exit).
Arguments
Section titled “Arguments”| Argument | When | How | Recorded field key | Condition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
fs_fd (arg0) |
Entry | raw scalar word | args.0, args.fs_fd |
|
cmd (arg1) |
Entry | raw scalar word | args.1, args.cmd |
|
key (arg2) |
Entry | the pointer itself, as a raw word | args.2, args.raw[2] |
|
| ↳ pointee | Entry | NUL-terminated string, up to 256 bytes | arg2.key |
the command sets a parameter (flag, string, binary, path, fd) |
value (arg3) |
Entry | the pointer itself, as a raw word | args.3, args.raw[3] |
|
| ↳ pointee | Entry | a string (up to 256 bytes, or 4,096 for paths) or, for FSCONFIG_SET_BINARY, aux (arg4) bytes up to 1 MiB |
arg3.value |
the command takes a value |
aux (arg4) |
Entry | raw scalar word | args.4, args.aux |
Filter fields
Section titled “Filter fields”- Result:
ret,syscall.errno,syscall.success,syscall.duration_ns. - Argument words:
args.fs_fd(arg0),args.cmd(arg1),args.key(arg2),args.value(arg3),args.aux(arg4);args.0toargs.5by position.
See Syscall Trace filter for the full syntax.
Known gaps
Section titled “Known gaps”- An unknown command records
fsconfig.unknown_selectorwith the “no decoder” status. - See the coverage mark above for the code paths that record a gap.
For what the capture statuses mean, see Capture statuses. For what is never recorded, see Known gaps.
